OBLATIO ๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ

Gather the flock. Feed the Altar.

๐Ÿ“– Description

OBLATIO is a short, atmospheric 1-bit horror game created in 10 days for the Game Jam (Theme: "OFFERING").

What seems like a quiet stroll through a sleeping village is actually a dark ritual. You are the Dark Shepherd. Your goal is simple: collect the wandering souls and lead them to the Church. But navigating the narrow streets with a long line of followers is harder than it looks... especially when you are not alone.

๐Ÿ“œ The Story (Lore)

The Ancient One is hungry, and the Altar has been empty for too long. You have arrived to pay the debt. It starts with a single soul, but as soon as you touch the villagers, they fall into a trance and join your Procession. But beware: the Faithless Guards patrol these streets. They do not look kindly upon your ritual. If they catch you—or anyone in your line—the offering will be ruined.

๐ŸŽฎ How to Play

Your goal is to successfully deliver 8 Souls to the Altar inside the Church.

  • GATHER: Walk into villagers to add them to your line (Snake mechanic).
  • GROW: The more souls you collect, the longer and harder to control your tail becomes.
  • AVOID: Watch out for the patrolling guards. If they touch YOU or ANYONE in your chain, it's Game Over.
  • OFFER: Enter the Church to release the souls and awaken the entity.

๐Ÿ•น๏ธ Controls

  • Arrow Keys / WASD: Move the Shepherd.

๐Ÿ™ Thank You!

Thank you for playing OBLATIO! This is my 4th Game Jam, and I experimented with a mix of "Snake" mechanics and horror atmosphere using only 2 colors. Since this was made in a short time, you might find some ghosts in the machine (bugs)... consider them part of the curse! ๐Ÿ‘ป
